Join us and discover your unique path through your sacred medicine wheel journey - a journey of truth, harmony and peace.
The Medicine Wheel has been used by generations of First Nations tribes for healing.
The Medicine Wheel journey will help you with your ‘vision’, to see where exactly you are with an issue and in which areas you need to develop in order to realize your potential.
It embodies the Four Directions: South, West, North and East, symbolizing the cycles of life in that are forever evolving and bringing new lessons. Each direction is lead by the energy of a Spirit Animal that we invoke as our guide each week. *see syllabus below.
The interconnectivity of all elements represented, helps to remind us of the importance of balance in all aspects of life.
Discover the interwoven threads of your life surrounding an issue and its place in your individual tapestry of life.
We will choose one issue each, that is personal to us, to focus on healing in the following ways:
Symbolic Animal: Snake representing shedding of energies that do not serve us in our healing process - a return to innocence through rebirth.
Ritual: The South direction is focused on the actual issue itself - we will write out anything that hinders us from moving forward in coming to terms with or resolving our issue and burn it while offering a prayer.
Element: Fire
Optional at home Project: Creating your own medicine wheel art work. *Details will be explained in class.
Symbolic Animal: Jaguar representing our virtuous/impeccable nature to help us to move forward with integrity.
Ritual: Blessing ritual of bottle of water offered to deity through puja.
Element: Water
Optional at home Project: Reflection project centred on water –
Fill a vessel with water that you can immerse your hands in – smudge it with sage. Then move your fingers around up and down in the water – visualize the emotions that are blocking you from moving forward being released from your mind, through your arms out into your fingers into the purity of the water cleansing as you breath deeply, repeating an affirmation to help you let go. Dispose of the water in your garden. Journal which emotions you felt release – what did this help to make more space for?
Symbolic Animal: Hummingbird governs the energy of truth and self-reverence - representing our inner joy to cultivate loving kindness for ourselves through any challenges the issue may present.
Ritual: Create a honey jar together
Element: Earth
Optional at home Project: Make a ‘thought record’ to delve deep into the subconscious, to promote mental clarity, to see the truth as it is.
Symbolic Animal: Eagle representing the energy of leadership. The interconnectedness of Earth and Spirit guiding us on how to navigate both worlds as we relate to our issue.
Ritual: Write a poem, note or affirmation, to offer as a promise or intention we put out into the universe through a sacred act that connects to Earth such as burying or placing in your special wooden box project.
Element: Air
Optional at home Project: Art project / vision board/collage involving feathers, stones, or placing in a specific box that can be decorated, – collect items on a walk, ponder why you came across a particular item – what is spirit trying to tell you?
